Meter & Relay Business Services Supervisor

General Accountabilities:

  • Supervise and administer the work staff in the Business Services and the Warehouse.
  • Provide support to department Supervisors and Managers
  • Support the department in the development and management of business processes and work Instructions.
  • Perform assigned work under the direction of the Senior Manager – AMINE – to assist in developing, evaluating and procedures.
  • Develop and implement department tracking and reporting systems and processes including metrics and financial reporting/tracking
  • Work with field staff and Asset Management for finance tracking and reporting
  • Assist with performance/compliance evaluation and reporting on work program and project performance and recommend corrective actions.
  • Work hours are 8:30am-4:00pm.
  • Key responsibilities include:
  • Support department in the development of business processes. Collect and recommend ideas to continuously improve processes.
  • Review staff performance, initiate recommendations on pay, promotions, transfer and discipline.
  • Coordinate AMI equipment inventory. Set up and approve orders in SAP. Work with buyers and vendors to set up delivery dates and expedite delivery of equipment
  • Work with Finance department to ensure all equipment is inventoried based on sound financial principles. 
  • Report variances and track costs associated with current, stale, and quarantined inventory to line management and finance department regularly.  Process equipment to be scrapped and disposed of through Investment Recovery and Finance departments.  Ensure costs are calculated and allocated correctly. 
  • Assist Asset Management with forecasting regarding material orders with price, qty, delivery dates, etc.
  • Reconcile quarterly to ensure budget vs spend is within guidelines and adjust if necessary.
  • Ensure vendor contract requirements are met with respect to procurement and make recommendations on the best ways to optimize the purchase of equipment. 
  • Optimize warehouse space for existing inventory and anticipate future needs for unexpected issues and growth. 
  • Maintain Telecom and Relay Strategic Spares, Control Spares, Monitoring Spares, Cyber Security Critical Assets.
  • Investigate appropriate means to record and track all records within AMINE.  Determine effective ways to reduce overall cost and provide appropriate systems of record for all documentation.
  • Extract data from SAP to run analysis and create reports
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Essential Experience:

  • Requires a knowledge of accounting principles
  • Requires experience with inventory control and warehouse logistics
  • Requires experience with SAP associated with procurement, financial reporting and analytical reporting
  • Requires experience to understand various meters and relay business processes and procedures associated with procurement of meters, metering devices, relays and telecom components.
  • Requires experience in inventory control and database management.
  • Requires experience in a supervisory capacity.  Numbers Supervised:  Direct 6-8
  • A period of 6 years and up to and including 8 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
  • Experience with Word, Power Point and Outlook is required.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills are required.

This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of a university degree in business administration or related field
