General Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Group Lead of Service Provisioning 

  • Responsible for managing customer orders from beginning to completion
  • Assist in the development of schedules pertaining to telecom customer project implementations.
  • Attend progress meetings, providing others with a verbal and written status, including project in-service dates.
  • Communicate effectively and appropriately when meeting with customers or Sales Rep’s to clarify service requests.  
  • Arrange for the purchase of telecom equipment and other related material, and record in inventory system.
  • Request local loop orders to be placed with vendors for services between customer sites and HOT’s point of presence, with third party providers such as Bell, Cogeco, CDS, etc
  • Work with tower lease contractors to arrange for shelter and antenna installations.  Interface with Hydro One Networks technicians and construction crews, arranging for site access to tower lease locations.  Sending quote and work requests to HONI using IBU or SAP tools.   
  • Recommend ways to improve on the customer service provisioning process.
  • Monitor and document vendor progress with telecom facility builds, scheduling regular calls, keeping CRM notes updated
  • Coordinate site access to HOT POP’s and customer sites for HOT Field Technicians.
  • Assist Service Provisioners with the closing of orders in CRM, ensuring vendor circuit routing details and ID# are provided and recorded in corporate databases.
  • Work with group manager to run a monthly report summarizing order trends, volumes, and time to install metrics.
  • Flexibility to work occassionally outside normal hours, and depending on customer requirements temporarily maker minor adjustment to working hours. 


Essential Competencies:

  • Requires a working knowledge of fiber optic technology, telecommunications, and project management to advise on plans related to the maintenance and installation of telecommunication equipment.
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training
  • Requires good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with all contacts involved in accomplishing work objectives.
  • Requires experience in the installation of telecommunications equipment and facilities.   
  • Requires experience with various software applications such as MS Word, Excel, MS Project, and MS Visio to produce various reports.
  • A period of over 2 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
