Job Function:

Lead development and sustainment activities for Information Technology (IT) applications to support Line of Business (LoB) solutions and services based on user requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Perform tactical activities including designing, inspecting, and implementing code for relevant applications using various programming languages in an agile environment. Guard the quality of the code for business technology solutions and prevent the accumulation of technical debt by applying sound engineering practices. Work closely with the Pod team to manage backlog, prioritize user stories, and confirm requirements are clear and complete before development. Support the Application Service Management lifecycle by analyzing trends to prevent occurrence of incidents, problems, and errors and improve overall performance; and conducting break/fix work. Perform release management and deployment activities and other sustainment activities with other groups as assigned by the Supervisor. Deliver user support services including acting as the initial touchpoint for users to answer inquiries; completing quick fixes regarding technology solutions; and driving incident, issue, and outage management activities including investigation and restoration. Job Description:

Work closely with the Pod Lead to plan a successful development process which includes development cycles and releases.
Self-organize and collaborate with the Pod team and other relevant stakeholders to execute development activities (designing, inspecting, adjusting, implementing code increments) and sustainment activities (operating, maintaining applications once developed including patch and image management tasks) for applications, based on relevant requirements and Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Applications may require using one or more programming languages.
Guard the quality of the code and prevent accumulation of technical debt by applying sound engineering practices.
Support creation of technical documentation for applications delivered.
Work with the Pod team to manage the backlog, prioritize user stories, and confirm requirements are clear and complete before development.
Discuss business requirements and user stories with the Agile Business Analyst to ensure clear and complete understanding of the requirements before development.
Collaborate with the Pod team, Solution Architect and other relevant stakeholders to identify improvements in the design and development of new applications including integrations and associated business processes for the supporting Lines of Business (LoB).
Develop and recommend technical strategies and solutions to maintain and/or expand service levels to management.

Selection Criteria:

Education:

Requires in-depth knowledge of information technology, computer science or equivalent to lead application development and sustainment activities from design to deployment to operations.
Requires knowledge of agile methodologies as well as cloud technologies, applications, data integration and security.
Requires certification in SAFe, Scrum methodologies, DevOps or Agile.
Requires relevant certifications in programming language/coding, specific applications and IT Service Manager (ITIL).
Requires good knowledge of English to communication effectively with others and create and/or update documentation. This knowledge is normally considered to be acquired through 4 years of University Training.

Experience:

Requires significant experience in IT domain with expert proficiency in developing, testing, deploying, operating, and monitoring applications to support LoB solutions and services; experience with one or more programming languages and toolkits would be an asset.
Requires experience in data governance to guard the quality of code for business technology solutions.
Requires significant experience with DevOps and knowledge of Agile planning (e.g., backlog management, sprint planning) and foundational capabilities (e.g., Agile development and tools).
Experience with Continuous Integrations, Continuous Deployment and Continuous Testing (CI, CD, CT) would be an asset.
Requires experience with user experience design and technical knowledge of applications, security, cloud technologies, and system/network/storage engineering.

Supervisor - High Voltage Cable Splicer (Toronto, ON, CA)

Previous underground high-voltage cable experience is a critical requirement for this position. Only candidates who can demonstrate relevant hands-on experience with underground high-voltage cable systems should be advanced for consideration.

The Cable Crew is responsible for the safe maintenance, operation, and integrity of approximately 170 km of underground transmission circuits across Toronto & the GTA, encompassing a mix of HV High /Low Pressure Liquid Filled cable, Pipe type and XLPE cable systems. This network forms a critical backbone supplying the downtown core and surrounding load centres. Our team plays an integral role in supporting capital projects and system expansions by providing field expertise and site representation for contractors, ensuring work is completed to standard and in alignment with system reliability requirements. Additionally, we fulfill key legislative obligations, including managing locates through Ontario One Call to protect buried infrastructure and prevent third-party damage. Through these combined responsibilities, the Cable Crew directly contributes to the reliability, safety, and long-term sustainability of the broader transmission system.

General Accountabilities

Lead and supervise Cable Crews in the safe, efficient execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs for underground HV cable systems
Plan, schedule, and coordinate crew activities, materials, tools, and equipment to deliver work programs, inspections, and capital work
Take ownership of crew safety, including establishing and holding work protection, conducting tailboards, safety meetings, and hazard assessments, and ensuring compliance with Hydro One standards
Lead cable locates (stakeouts) and support capital work, including HV cable joint replacements and system improvements
Supervise and participate in cable maintenance, inspections, testing, and HV/MV cable repairs, and carry out Hi Pot and Partial Discharge cable testing for MV cables up to 50KV
Organize and assign work to crew members based on skills and qualifications, and coordinate activities with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders
Optimize resources and adjust work plans to respond to changing priorities, system conditions, and emergencies
Monitor crew performance, provide coaching and on-the-job training, and support employee development and performance management
Promote a respectful, productive work environment and maintain positive labour relations
Ensure accurate reporting, documentation, and use of systems (e.g., SAP) for planning and tracking work activities
Ensure work meets corporate standards for safety, quality, and productivity
Participate in on-call rotations and respond to emergency work as required

Selection Criteria

Grade 12 (or equivalent) with experience in a high-voltage (HV) environment, including job planning, work protection, and crew leadership
Valid driver’s license
Utility Work Protection Code (UWPC) certification is an asset
309A Electrician certification (or equivalent) is an asset
Proven experience as a cable maintainer, including:

Splicing and terminating MV/HV cables

Performing cable maintenance, inspections, and repairs using specialized equipment

Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and route prints
Demonstrated leadership experience directing crews, assigning work, and delivering safe, efficient results
Strong knowledge of Hydro One Safety Rules, work protection practices, and cable maintenance standards
