Job Function:
The Manager, Partnerships and Stakeholder Relations play a pivotal role in developing and executing Hydro One's external partnerships strategy, with primary responsibility for managing the company's portfolio of industry association memberships, advocacy sponsorships, conferences, and stakeholder events. This role is responsible for identifying and maximizing opportunities to strengthen Hydro One's presence, influence, and thought leadership across the energy and electricity sector, ensuring investments in partnerships and sponsorships deliver measurable value and align with corporate priorities

General Accountabilities:

Determine, promote and implement key government and external relations strategies, policies and programs in support of Hydro One's corporate goals and strategy.
Make effective recommendations, including making relevant presentations, to senior management and the Hydro One Board of Directors on strategies and programs which are critical to Hydro One's success.
Provide detailed strategic government and external relations advice and operational support.
Establish and maintain contacts at the highest level of the government and external agencies, and with key senior people in Hydro One.
Being aware of and utilizing key information, including confidential and forward-looking information on government policy, external agency directions and Hydro One perspectives, on a continuous basis to determine government and external relations policies, strategies and programs.
Lead the establishment of Hydro One positions at the OEB regarding interactions with the government and external agencies, including addressing confidentiality considerations.
Lead the implementation of key initiatives to:

Influence proposed regulation and legislation
Improve the working relationship between Hydro One lines of business and government ministries, agencies & external stakeholders
increase external stakeholder satisfaction and
enhance Hydro One's image/reputation across all external key influencers and stakeholders.

Manage government and external relations activities including:

interactions with various provincial government ministries and federal government departments
specific support for government initiatives, new bills and regulations
interfaces with key agencies such as the OEB (in conjunction with regulatory affairs), and the IESO
interactions with external stakeholders, particularly representative groups such as generator associations, and consumer associations in conjunction with other Hydro One groups including Corporate Communications

Provide support to various lines of business by providing government and external relations advice and support to ensure programs meet their goals, enable process redesign and the improvement and implementation of business change programs, and that LOB programs are clearly understood by Hydro One#s external stakeholders and shareholders.
Provide reports and data for corporate purposes, as required.
Perform analysis and measure government and external relations performance data to ensure that associated activities are effective and targeted.
Manage project budgets and maximize the impact of each government and external relations dollar, including negotiating best rates from external service deliverers where applicable.
Ensure availability of appropriate resources for the completion of government and external relations programs.
Ensure scope and policy changes, new work methods and program/project objectives are effectively introduced to staff.
Provide leadership and be accountable for the successful implementation and delivery of assigned work programs and special projects.

Selection Criteria:

University Degree in a relevant field to either energy, environment or public policy.
10 years’ experience in Government Relation (or equivalent) with 5 plus years in Management

Experience working with government stakeholders at municipal, provincial, and/or federal levels.

Job Description

The Senior IT Security Specialist will work within the OT Cybersecurity Technology & Operations team as a Defender Of Energy, protecting Hydro One Networks against Cyber Attacks and proactively assessing existing cybersecurity controls & cyber defenses.

Join a diverse team of experienced Cybersecurity practitioners, and act as a subject matter expert for Information Security with the Lines of Business (LOB)

Focus on Cyber Risk Management as it relates to Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) systems
Translate technical cyber & information security requirements into business actions. Preserve and apply the security governance framework (based on NIST) for the LOBs.
Work with different, potentially conflicting requirements (legal, regulatory, industry standards, security strategy) to distil realistic security requirements supporting the business strategy
Conduct research to maintain and expand knowledge on the latest cyber security technologies and standards, as well as the threat and vulnerability landscape for Industrial Control Systems (ICS) in general, and the Electrical sector in Ontario

You are an experienced Cyber Risk Management professional with extensive knowledge and experience in architecture of the following domains and their application to IT (and preferably OT) environments:

Specific Accountabilities may include:

Represent the Cyber Risk Management team as an advisor and expert Cyber Security SME to support the overall security program.

Provide recommendations for security architecture for all technology projects, new platforms – on premise or cloud-based and ensure alignment of technology solutions to established frameworks and security standards.

Requisite Experience and Skills:

10+ years of information security experience in risk management and information security
Strong knowledge of NIST SP800-53 and NIST Cyber Security Framework
Sound understanding of the Ontario Cyber Security Framework

On behalf of client supervisors, exercise judgement and tact in explaining relevant issues to government regulators, negotiate on behalf of the client and attempt to influence the Ministry of Environment staff in matters such as the granting of Director's Instructions, Certificates of Approval, legislative exemptions, accepting the company's actions and plans and other areas where the company is required to adhere to prescribed requirements.
Assist line management to identify and arrange for all necessary permits, licenses and approvals required by company activities, operations and maintenance programs. Participate, if required, in the investigations of environmental incidents using effective investigative techniques and prepare appropriate reports. Education:

Requires a knowledge of management systems theory and environmental management in order to develop and implement programs for the management of impact on company operations on the environment.
Requires a knowledge of computer technology and analytical expertise to maintain environment data, evaluate trends and recommend improvement program and policy.
Requires knowledge of technical and report writing and oral expression to prepare various reports and presentations and to develop environment programs.
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training with a specialty in Archaeology an asset (Grade XII plus 5 years).

Experience:

Requires experience in various aspects of operating, servicing and maintaining the electrical system in order to understand the management of the associated environmental issues such as waste, PCB's, pesticides, spills, contaminated lands, dangerous goods and chemicals.
Requires experience with program, process and procedure development and implementation, including the application of various techniques to investigate accidents and incidents.
Requires an understanding of environment legislation in order to provide advice, interpretations and recommendations concerning environment programs and procedures.
Requires experience with data analysis and management.

Job Description:

The Planner can be assigned responsibilities directed to any of the following major departmental activities associated with the approval, design and construction of new and modified bulk transmission facilities or responsibilities associated with reviews of external policies, legislation and planning documents on behalf of Hydro One.

(c) Land Use Planning Services - where responsibilities are directed towards the analysis of and coordination of responses by Hydro One Inc. on proposed government land use policy, municipal official plans, zoning bylaws and site plans, and proposed development plans of government ministries and agencies to ensure that Hydro One's interests are considered and protected; to review and comment on property management proposals and plans of subdivision as requested by internal groups; to review and analyze existing land use planning documents for environmental project planning; to prepare and process requests for Orders-in-Council and municipal approvals required for projects.

(d) Impact Prediction Studies - where responsibilities are directed towards developing better understandings of the kinds of land use and environmental effects which could result from Ontario Hydro facilities and activities; methods by which such knowledge can be used to predict effects and to help identify, compare and select from among transmission route and site alternatives and to mitigate effects of constructing bulk system facilities.

(e) Inventory Methods - where responsibilities are directed towards improvement of methods for collecting and creating information about the environment and potential impacts, including better sources of information, new technology and media.

Carry out minor or assist in carrying out major studies and planning for construction projects within the responsibility areas as assigned. On occasion, coordinate smaller studies as directed. Refer unusual problems and relatively important matters to supervisor for direction. Participate in the preparation and presentation of comprehensive responses, reports, recommendations and environmental assessment documents to, and appear before senior management and other interested parties in support of recommendations resulting from assigned projects or studies.
Carry out investigations, develop evidence and appear at formal hearings including governmental and public participation processes related to land use, environmental planning, site selection Ontario Municipal Board (OMB), Environmental Assessment Board (EAB), joint boards, etc, in an effort to influence the members to change their recommendations in accordance with the interests of Hydro One Inc. Follow all Hydro One rules and practices regarding work safety and vehicle operation.
Contribute to the securing, protecting and advancing of responsible project and corporate objectives for assigned minor projects or components of major projects or activities, by means of studies and negotiations with external personnel and professionals to achieve mutual understanding or agreement, and to persuade them to change their positions or adopt courses of action in keeping with corporate objectives.

Education:

Requires a knowledge of environmental sciences, environmental engineering, urban and regional planning or landscape architecture including such pertinent subjects within those fields as the ecological sciences, land economics, land uses, geography, agriculture, environmental assessment and planning theory, etc, to perform or assist in the conduct of environmental studies and design and construction components of transmission and station projects of Hydro One Inc.
Requires a knowledge of computer technology and GIS.
Requires a thorough knowledge of communication skills, both oral and written, for preparation, editing and presentation of standards, procedures and environmental assessments, and in dealing with both professional contacts and the general public.
This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a four year university education in Archaeology as an asset

Job Description:

Process administrative information and perform data processing assignments for Stations business units to create, update and produce Zone reports and correspondence, including the input, output, verification, maintaining, manipulation, formatting and updating of data using several different computer programs, including SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, HOLMS and SharePoint, as well as other databases. Maintain intranet documentation.
Perform clerical/administrative duties in support of SAP system processes. Set up, monitor and maintain orders. Utilize appropriate cost centres and accounts, requisition and receipt material requests as required. Contact customers as required to gather information in order to set up notifications in SAP.
Work with clients and other contacts to set up and maintain accurate employee information. Assist in processing time reports, exceptions, vacation entitlement, bank time/lieu time, retirement bank, sick leave and related activities, as directed. Complete paperwork for new hires, hiring hall, temps and arrange for computers and access, building access, credit cards and determine appropriate cost centre, phones, etc. Complete and submit applicable forms for terminations.
Track and monitor credit card process adhering to deadlines for audit purposes, on behalf of cardholders. Arrange for journal transfers as required.
Retrieve and review a variety of control and exception reports related to SAP and follow up with appropriate contacts/supervisors for clarification and resolution of exceptions, record and act on responses, as advised.
Perform various clerical services including the maintenance of records and files such as catalogues, manuals, procurement card statements and receipts. File, retrieve and distribute documents as necessary. Receive and distribute mail and faxes. Order, replenish and maintain office supplies. Photocopy, prepare and maintain reference binders, update manuals and post various communications to staff, etc. Order prints, including operating diagrams, and plot, if required. Process & track tool & boot allowance payments.
Schedule and make arrangements for meetings, conferences, face to face sessions, training sessions. Book onsite/offsite meeting/conference rooms required accommodations and travel arrangements. Order coffee, lunch and confirm attendance of participants.
Provide assistance to the stations group by ordering consumables and FR clothing. Work with supply management staff regarding material delivery dates, delivery locations, receipting, and creating new material master numbers in SAP. Assist with resolution of material problems such as non-delivery, invoicing and incorrect specification. Refer any problems of a complex nature to the supervisor or appropriate corporate support. Coordinate calibration of tool and test instruments and maintain records as associated reports as directed. Monitor tool and material expiry dates, initiate and coordinate replacement.
Update and submit Forward Command Post records, perform facility checks and file reports, as required.
Assist in identifying individuals requiring training, according to an established training matrix set out in HOLMS, including H&S, work protection, ministry required training, etc.
Contact external service providers to schedule training sessions, arrange for training locations and training materials to be available for scheduled training.
Contact external service providers for faxes, photocopiers and printers to prepare lease renewals, set up new contacts and arrange billing. Assist staff with cell phone and pager billing and exchange issues.
Travel to other work centres within the Zone, on occasion, to perform clerical duties.
Perform other duties as required.

Monitor location of crew staff performing maintenance work on a daily basis. Respond to telephone inquiries and trouble calls, attempt to identify source of problem and determine location of caller, utilizing appropriate apparatus, (i.e. Area maps). Relay information/requests to service crews on the basis of priority and upon the availability and proximity of crews. Refer major service disruptions, emergencies to Supervisor to generate further action.
Notify customers with respect to cases of planned interruption to service, as directed by Supervisor.
Prepare requisitions and contract documents in accordance with approved procedures for work such as grass cutting, snow plowing, janitorial services, garbage removal, diesel fuel purchases for barge, winter road, road rail deliveries, etc. Material requests must be created in system software in order to enable purchase orders to be created by others.
Assemble details needed to complete an invitation to tender prior to the commencement of a job. Monitor and expedite the service, when required. Receive approved purchase orders, check for accuracy of data and make arrangements for correction or completion of data as necessary. Check on completion of jobs for correct invoice amounts and make adjustments to requisitions, as necessary. Note expiry dates on the contracts and arrange for new contracts. Assist in the development of maintenance schedules. Collect data from a variety of sources such as, SAP, operations reports and manufacturers' schedules and prepare required data for presentation, using appropriate software programs. Record, report and maintain statistical information pertinent to schedules, estimates, manhours, work affecting customers, and/or other necessary details. Oversee and ensure completeness and accuracy of planning technical specifications for transmission investments, including necessary studies and long term policies.
Prepare business cases and strategies, develop rationale for policies and standards, obtain approvals, and provide input for business planning/budgeting.
Act as leader and technical expert to provide direction to staff involved with the detailed work related to transmission planning assessments, studies, technical specifications and project developments. Work closely with a variety of groups within the Company (e.g. Stations, Asset Management, Human Resources, Supply Chain Services groups) on several aspects of the outsourcing program, including change proposals, business plan, budget, business case approvals, benchmarking, projects, audits, contract disputes, preparation of materials for senior management and Hydro One Board of Directors, continuous improvement initiatives, etc.
Lead development of recommended strategies and policies related to the facilities outsourcing program and/or projects as it relates to compliance with the outsourcing contract.
Recommend strategies, tactics and positions for the Company to adopt related to negotiation issues requiring the approval of the Executive Committee or Board of Directors. This requires conducting risk assessments and business analysis for the purpose of making the recommendations based on well-founded business cases. The assessments and business cases are to be developed with the aid of multi-disciplined teams that have accountability for various business issues, which may impact revenue requirements, regulatory reporting and compliance issues.
Lead the division in the development of evidence in support of the Company's revenue requirement and regulatory rate applications in both the Transmission and Distribution businesses.
Participate in meeting legal, regulatory and market rules requirements by developing information related to outsourcing strategies, policies and standards, results as required to support submissions to the Regulator. Advise on implications of contract change, strategic direction and business planning across Corporate Services. Assess and advise on opportunities and liabilities that could have an impact on asset value and revenue.
Work with facilities outsourcing service providers and key stakeholders inside and outside of Hydro One as required to foster and develop continuous improvement initiatives in the outsourcing program. Liaise with specialists within and outside the company for the exchange of data and consultation in areas of mutual interests and to integrate the recommendations into the overall strategies, policies and work methods. Make progress reports to Director, Facilities & Real Estate and stakeholders at significant stages of work development.
Provide advice and deliver communications products to external stakeholders, corporate and line of business staff to assist in their understanding of the outsourcing program, related contract terms, policies and strategies, as required.
Ensure day-to-day facilities needs are addressed by the facilities outsourcing service provider to the terms of the contract, thus providing a safe environment for our staff. Ensure compliance with necessary regulations, policies by same.
Review yearly the scope of work outsourced to ensure correctness to needs of Hydro One. Working with the facilities outsourcing service provider makes necessary contractual work scope changes to ensure alignment to needs/value. Address issues and provide necessary directions to resolve or escalate.
Execute signing authority as specified in the Organizational Authority Register. Make recommendations to Director Facilities & Real Estate on effectiveness of governance team members for future involvement in outsourcing matters. Assist with the formulation of process improvements to streamline governance processes.
Establish a comprehensive understanding of all contract terms, outsourced business processes, financial control points, legislation, rules, licenses and codes, policies and procedures and act as the subject matter expert within the Company in specific areas, including providing contract interpretation and ensuring all the necessary processes and products are in place to ensure compliance.
Contribute and collaborate with the Planning and Strategy Manager to develop workplace strategies and execution plans.
Responsible for implementation of workplace strategies and plans including the development of Capital Projects.
Responsible for the execution and delivery of Capital Projects to meet F&RE In year and multi-year Capital Program.
Develop and implement workplace occupancy plans and initiatives. Support strategic corporate objectives.

General Accountabilities:

Specific Accountabilities:

Make effective recommendations regarding staff changes or promotions and maintain discipline. Provide advice and guidance relative to staff problems.
Responsible for developing teamwork with peers and developing a teamwork environment amongst subordinates. Responsible for sound environmental practices and compliance with approved legislation. Administer the general operations of assigned Operations Centres, ensure that adequate security, fire and safety measures are taken, and precautions observed.
Ensure that personnel are provided adequate training, be aware of fluctuating workload and initiate measures necessary to maintain operating efficiency. Participate in meetings of both local and province-wide scope and contribute to the formulation of new or revised policy affecting Distribution Lines and Regional operations. Direct
the disposal of obsolete equipment, perform work standard studies and prepare reports. Authorize expense reports and other personnel forms as delegated. Ensure adequate training for subordinates, administer pay and personnel matters.
Supervise Operations Centre(s) technical activities. Plan and direct the day-to-day preventive and other necessary maintenance to rural lines and associated equipment, street lighting systems, rights-of-way including fencing, ditching, tree pruning and weed control, buildings and grounds. Supervise work performed on lines above rural line voltage and be accountable to Zone for work performed. Plan and direct day-to-day operation relative to the implementation of rural plant. Supervise the installation of electric service, special metering devices and initiate requests for power meter tests. Direct the installation and maintenance of fuses, reclosures, breakers, repeater switches and other safety devices in accordance with Zone fuse, coordination plan.
Investigate, and provide details and sketches of proposed line crossings to Zone and direct pole replacement program in accordance with Work Management instructions. May direct and be responsible for routine maintenance and minor repair relative to stations within area jurisdiction having limited technical responsibility in this regard. May operate shops, garages or other repair depots engaged in the repair and minor maintenance of quantities of equipment such as fleets of vehicles, boats and/or work equipment, etc.
Supervise Operations Centre office. Ensure staff follow the appropriate processes related to accounting and clerical activities associated with the billing and collection of authorized charges relative to the installation of services and/or revenue from sale of power, the maintenance of area stores and the accounting for tools and office equipment. Prepare or supervise preparation of reports and the various correspondence relative to Zone operation.
Participate in planning of Regional capital expenditures, such as line extensions, street lighting, plant betterment, etc. Be aware of load growth or other conditions necessitating modification of existing plant or services, or extensions thereto. Study requirements and participate with planning staff in preparation of plans for construction and expenditure, attend meetings and supervise the implementation of the program in accordance with direction.
Manage assigned work processes, monitor, evaluate and recommend changes and/or improvements to ensure efficient and effective completion of work as required in Service Level Agreements or contracts.
Contribute to and review information and estimates provided for negotiating/bidding on distribution work. Evaluate the complete package, identify and recommend potential changes to improve the final package including prices and service levels.
Provide advice and recommendations on capabilities, price, service levels and other deliverables as part of negotiation of Service Level Agreements or Contracts.
Assist in discussions, problem solving and issue resolution with customers regarding negotiation, implementation and ongoing work performance of Service Level Agreements or Contracts.
Deal with the consumer service requirements providing advice to customers relative to their electrical problems, interpreting wiring code and drawing attention to hazards. Advise new customers relative new construction, rates and application procedure and costs. Deal with customer complaints and initiate remedial action. Plan local interruptions necessary for maintenance and advise all affected customers and DOMC of interruptions affecting stations and act on its instruction. Assist in the transfer of customers' supply and services to municipalities and provide various technical and/or administrative services to municipalities upon request or by contract arrangement. Arrange for exhibits, speakers, films, etc, for public meetings and be prepared to participate in local public meetings to promote or defend Corporate policy. Foster good public relations at all times.
Participate in cross-functional teams to implement customer products and programs in the areas of asset planning and operations, customer relations, customer connections, information management, code compliance application of tariffs within timelines.
Liaise with technical specialists within and outside the company for the exchange of data and consultation in areas of mutual interests and integrate the recommendations into policies, processes and products being developed or delivered to customers.
In consultation with the Senior Advisor, Customer Products and Delivery, develop and implement workplans to deliver policies and products designed to address expectations of Customers (LDCs, load customers, generators) regulator and shareholder and improve customers' knowledge and understanding of new obligations
and processes in the deregulated Ontario electricity market.
Provide advice and deliver communications products to external groups to assist in their understanding of regulatory codes, business policies and strategies.
Perform miscellaneous duties and tasks such as necessary to process joint use agreements or under take special studies of a clerical or technical nature. May perform work of subordinates as necessary to maintain schedules etc.

Managerial Accountabilities:

Manage the unit and achieve the approved programs and targeted results through:

Maintaining a team of subordinates who are capable of producing the outputs required.
Ensure subordinates are able and willing to produce the desired output, and that subordinate managers continually improve the processes for achieving the outputs.
Assess staff capability to do the required work, now and in the future.
Conduct personal effectiveness reviews of subordinates managers/specialists to build relationships and trust, and to improve effectiveness.
Mentor and counsel subordinates-once-removed.

Accountability for the Outputs of Others:

Set the appropriate context for subordinates (i.e. corporate strategies and policies, accountabilities, tasks, budget and Programs), compliance and performance targets, expectations for continuous improvement, etc.)

Selection Criteria:
Essential Knowledge:

Requires a knowledge of customer service and distribution function in order to supply electrical power and service to customers of a Utility Customer Centre.
Requires a knowledge of customer operations sufficient to lead a staff of mixed trades.
Requires a knowledge of project management and human relations to negotiate effectively with customers and the public, a knowledge of computer applications related to distribution network systems.
Requires a good knowledge of English to effectively communicate.
Requires electrical utility experience, preferably in Operations

Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Services (Strategic Projects – North), this environmental planner role will provide environmental services for major transmission infrastructure projects, with primary responsibility for managing Class Environmental Assessment (EA) requirements for Strategic Projects in Northeastern Ontario. Successful candidates must demonstrate a knowledge and experience in successfully leading the delivery of large/complex environmental assessments for infrastructure projects, including undertaking environmental studies, tendering and monitoring environmental consultant contracts and budgets, coordinating approvals, permits and agreements with external parties and collaborating with internal/external teams to ensure continued regulatory compliance and delivery of project commitments. Candidates must have a four-year university degree or equivalent in environmental studies, biology, planning or a related field.

Job Function:

Administer the provision of environmental services related to the development of new or the upgrade of existing transmission/distribution lines or stations and miscellaneous projects.

Prepare plans, drawings and specifications, etc, to carry out related work programs. Prepare and monitor the project budgets and related activities.

Direct contract administration. Liaise and negotiate with government agencies, public groups and property owners to acquire agreements and approvals. Liaise with other internal groups to ensure acceptable products and commitments.

Job Description:

1.Direct the preparation of plans, estimates, drawings andspecifications to assist project development, including right-of-way development plans, environmental work, access route layout, the design of mitigation to address complaints, updating of plans to reflect field conditions, etc, from the initial planning phase of projects until the project is commissioned and all restoration is complete. Prepare estimates for all environmental work associated with transmission or distribution line planning, construction or upgrading projects, and new or upgrading of existing transmission or distribution stations, for inclusion in the project. Ensure related expenditures are monitored and reviews of variance or change notices are prepared as required. Direct the development and review of project schedules to ensure the proper sequence of activities necessary to meet deadlines.

2. Prepare an annual unit staffing plan for inclusion in the section and departmental business plan and budget. Monitor projects and work programs on a monthly basis to achieve budget objectives. Prepare estimates related to environment activities within the unit.

3. Initiate and direct the administration of contracts for materials and services for environmental work programs. Prepare or direct the preparation of contract documents. Initiate and direct tender invitation, contractor meetings, evaluation of tenders and preparation of recommendations for award. Ensure work is carried out according to corporate policies and that contracts are managed in accordance with corporate purchasing policies. Maintain lists of qualified contractors and consultants for particular activities and functions. Encourage and direct the training and development of contractors in right-of-way development programs. Initiate, direct and monitor the work of contractors, taking corrective action where substandard performance arises. Ensure work is appropriately administered and assessed as to compliance with safety, schedules, specifications and in accordance with pertinent legislation. Where union labour is involved, ensure that work is done to the extent of the Company's responsibilities in accordance with the collective agreement between the Electrical Power System Construction Association (EPSCA) and the Allied Trades Council.

4. Liaise with government agencies, public groups and individual property owners to gather information, review plans and practices, gain approvals and make commitments as necessary. Participate in negotiations to resolve conflicts and make commitments on behalf of the Company involving forestry and environmental practices and issues. Develop alternative approaches to resolve problems. Liaise with other LoB staff as required to achieve work programs, provide services, gather information, review commitments and practices, etc. related to forestry and environmental issues. Direct an environmental monitoring program for internal and external review. Conduct site tours or inspections with government agency staff, as required.

5. Direct special studies and research projects related to environmental issues such as natural environment assessments, visual assessments, agricultural capability, soils compaction, heritage resources, Environmental Site Assessments, inventory and assessment of wells, etc. Ensure that staff cooperate and participate in related research projects. Prepare estimates for studies, monitor costs and progress.

6.Be responsible for work programs including the preparation of appropriate specifications and contract documents, monitoring systems, property owners and government agency contacts, statistics, inspections, etc. for various projects such as:

- direct the implementation of selective clearing programs and the preparation of specifications and contract documents;
- direct the implementation of environmental monitoring programs during the construction phase of any project;
- provide guidance in the development of solutions and preventative work measures, and mitigation to address technical problems encountered;
- direct the preparation and implementation of landscaping and screening programs as required for HV rights-of-way;
- direct the evaluation of wood products on rights-of-way to provide information to real estate staff for property settlements.
- Direct the calculation of business losses for forestry related business such as maple sugar production. Direct the calculation of compensation for such items as loss of shade for cattle, crown dues, evaluation of residential landscaping, plantations, etc;
- direct the implementation of revegetation programs and the preparation of specifications and contract documents. Direct the preparation of annual statistics on revegetation and planting programs;
- direct the implementation of grubbing programs, the preparation of specifications and contract documents;
- direct the preparation of specifications for restoration of project sites to ensure that commitments are met and to identify outstanding deficiencies;
- direct the commissioning inspection of vegetation clearances, landscape and final restoration to certify that specifications have been met and to ensure a smooth transition of activities from construction to maintenance stages. Participate as a member of the project commissioning team;
- direct the compilation of information and the preparation of documents. This includes the Environmental Study Report, stormwater management plans, documentation of environmental commitments made during construction and as a basis for future maintenance and land management,and the Environmental Specification to ensure that all project work is performed to minimum environmental standards. Ensure documents are filed with the appropriate government or public agencies;
- provide a service during route and site selection activities regarding landscape, forestry and environmental concerns. Ensure all pertinent documentation is reviewed;
- direct the application of suitable cover crops and planting of other vegetation as required to disturbed areas.

7. Act as a technical resource to other organizations and the public on environment issues. Establish and chair project teams and work with staff of other LoBs to ensure that projects comply with schedules, costs, legislation, conditions of approval, corporate policies, planning, environmental, and landscape requirements. Advise, assist and provide a service to commissioning teams and committees on forestry and environmental issues, constraints, legislation, etc, during all phases of project implementation, including transmission line development and tower layout. Participate in the development of policy and work methods. Prepare and present technical papers and representations on section activities to senior management and external groups as required.

8. Prepare evidence on environment and forestry related issues and activities to assist legal and real estate function staff at various hearings and in handling property issues. Provide information and evidence at hearings, or appear as an Company witness at hearings, such as the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB), Expropriation Act or Consolidated Board, on environmental issues.

9. Participate in and document various hearings and dispute settlements regarding labour, safety, property and other issues related to environmental activities. Appear, or direct staff to appear, as representatives or witnesses and provide full cooperation and information or testimony on pertinent issues. Respond to enquiries or investigations from the Ombudsmen's Office, the Ministry of the Environment and other government agency. Respond to concerns expressed by property owners, tenants or their legal counsel. Be prepared to address contentious items and make decisions where existing policy requires interpretation. Participate in meetings and information centres for new rights-of-way or facilities involving citizen or interest groups and various government agencies to manage concerns on landscape, forestry and environmental topics.

10. Provide input and assistance in the development of corporate policies related to environmental items.

11.Maintain an awareness of advances and new techniques in the environmental management field. Participate in the development of training courses for staff and ensure that staff maintain appropriate licenses, registration, professional memberships and certification, as required. Investigate new methods and encourage fellow staff to keep abreast of new materials, equipment and concepts related to unit activities. Ensure all staff remain up-to-date on all issues within their profession.

12. Actively promote safety with fellow employees, contractors and consultants, ensuring adequate training and the use of safe work practices. Support the Director Sourcing in effectively planning, managing, monitoring and controlling the execution of the Sourcing function within the Supply Chain Services business unit.

Develop the long-term Sourcing Plan forecast models for Hydro One’s set of critical materials in support of the 5-yr Investment Plan Proposal and secure these materials through strategic alliances with suppliers. Manage and lead the tactical forecast development process and ensure consensus is reached on forecast volumes each month. Minimize forecast error, ensure on-time secured availability of materials and achieve optimal purchase price standards for the Corporation. Develop strategies and policies in the areas of strategic sourcing and/or material forecasting as they relate to the Investment Plan Proposal.

Conduct market intelligence on key suppliers; establish a robust supplier and materials portfolio management and performance standard data set for the critical materials utilized in the Corporation. Establish the supplier selection criteria to be used in evaluating critical materials RFx bids and manage the strategic alliances required to secure availability of same. Represent the corporation in strategic alliance supplier relationships and Utilities forums, consistent with Supply Chain goals and strategic objectives.

Specific Accountabilities:

Through collateral relationships with and within the context provided by the Director - Sourcing, (i.e., corporate strategies and policies, accountabilities, tasks, budget and programs, compliance and performance targets, expectations for continuous improvement, etc.), this role will be accountable for the following:

Support the Director of Sourcing in effectively planning, managing, monitoring and controlling the execution of all aspects of the Sourcing work, including contributions to the Company’s Investment Plan Proposal.
Represent the corporation in managing strategic supplier relationships, consistent with its strategic sourcing process and Supply Chain goals and strategic objectives. This will include management of forecasts, delivery, quality, and performance issues and the negotiation of damages with suppliers as appropriate. Having these sourcing contracts in place is critical to the Business Plan and the delivery of future work programs and could involve contracts ranging from $10-200 million and this position will be empowered to negotiate and commit the corporation to long-term contracts to strategic suppliers for critical material needs in support of the Business Plan.
Develop and manage the key suppliers’ performance through establishing a robust supplier and materials portfolio management system for the critical materials utilized in the corporation. This position will establish optimal purchase price standards on these critical materials and provide market intelligence and decide the approval, discontinuance and ongoing evaluation of suppliers of Hydro One materials.
Enact commitments on behalf of Hydro One to suppliers as part of a strategic alliance for critical materials in order to adopt a course of action that is suitable for the Company.
Develop and recommend sourcing strategies and policies to optimize material lifecycle cost reductions, secure the availability of materials, monitor and act on improving order fill rates with suppliers and manage the supplier partnership commitments. Identify and assess current and future needs for policy and strategy.
Develop supply chain investment plans and bring forward supply chain business cases which will impact success of company being able to deliver on required work programs.
Develop supplier contract renewal program, manage and approve strategic RFx’s for partnerships with suppliers.
Manage and approve commercial contracts commitment details for strategic suppliers.
Establish and manage the supplier selection criteria to be used in evaluating critical materials RFP bids and establish the strategic alliances and long-term contracts required to secure availability of same.
Manage forecast error and authorize changes to the statistical forecast models that drive the strategic procurement of critical materials in support of the Business Plan including developing the BCS for submission to senior management for the forecasted material plan, on an annual basis.
Conduct collaborative sessions with Line of Business Management representatives (e.g. Grid Ops, E&CS, Asset Mgmt, Customer Ops, Finance, Inergi, etc.) to develop a consensus demand plan and provide market intelligence and standards changes in jointly creating asset strategies that reflect the global market trends.
Develop and manage the long-term sourcing forecast models for Hydro One’s set of critical materials and secure these materials through strategic alliances with suppliers.
Manage and develop long-term confidential tactical forecasts for inclusion into partnership contracts with strategic suppliers and risk mitigation to the Business Plan and preparation of materials for Senior Management and Hydro One Board of Directors
Authorize the automatic replenishment model to be used for key stock items stored in the Barrie Warehouse in conjunction with the Warehouse Manager.
Provide management direction to Inergi LP Sourcing specialists.
Manage performance metrics and reports (new, derived from SAP) for SLA monitoring and performance feedback with Inergi LP.
Present Strategic Sourcing cost savings summaries and incremental estimates in rate filings defense, as appropriate.
Represent Hydro One as a management representative in the Canadian Utilities Supply Chain forum.
Represent Hydro One with suppliers, other utilities and key stakeholders inside and outside of Canada as required to foster and develop continuous improvement initiatives in the Sourcing area and for the exchange of data and consultation in areas of mutual interests. In addition, integrate the recommendations into the overall strategies, policies and forecasting in Hydro One’s Supply Chain Services vision.
Manage staffing needs, interview/selection process, staff development and adherence to HR/Corporate policies and administer department budget. Plan, organize and schedule the group's work; monitor work progress and quality; conduct performance reviews and provide direction on problem areas. Provide effective recommendations to Supervisor concerning promotions, transfers, pay, disciplinary action, etc. of staff within the department per collective agreements. Develop succession plans and provide on the job staff development. Monitor and recommend changes to control and meet targets.
Participate in the development of Sourcing positions to influence the evolution of forecasting in order that the Company is appropriately positioned to compete global on material portfolio management and strategic sourcing requirements. Participate in meeting legal, regulatory and Bill 198 requirements by developing information related to Supply Chain strategies, policies and service standards, as required to support submissions to the Regulator. Advise on implications of investment decisions, strategic direction and business planning across Asset Management, particularly in movement toward global standardization and compatible units adoption. Assess and advise on opportunities and liabilities that could have an impact on asset value and lifecycle cost.
Provide management direction to staff doing the detailed work related to the Sourcing Plan, schedule and assign the work with instructions, provide advice and guidance, and check the work to maintain quality, accuracy and productivity. Where alternative solutions are available, select an optimum course of action and make recommendations to the Director, Sourcing where any highly unusual operating expense or amount of staff is involved or required.
Execute signing authority as specified in the Organizational Authority Register.

Managerial Accountabilities

The Manager, Workplace Modernization, will play a key leadership role in advancing Hydro One's people and places strategy. This position, on the Real Estate & Facilities Management Team, is responsible for developing and implementing workplace programs that support modern ways of working, including workplace design, accommodation and move management, change enablement, employee experience initiatives, workplace standards, and occupancy planning. The role will also lead engagement with external partners, including architects, designers, workplace consultants, engineers, and project delivery firms, to develop and implement innovative workplace environments that support Hydro One's evolving workforce and business objectives.

Working across the organization, the successful candidate will help translate business needs into workplace solutions that create value for employees while ensuring Hydro One's office portfolio remains safe, efficient, sustainable, and aligned with future organizational requirements.

General Accountabilities:

Manage all the company’s owned and leased facilities throughout the province, including office buildings, administrative centers, operating facilities and transformer stations. Ensure all relevant municipal and provincial building and fire codes, and health, safety and environmental requirements and regulations are met.
Ensure that building systems operate effectively and efficiently, air quality is maintained and that the buildings operate to ensure health, safety and environmental regulations are met. Obtain Ministry of Environment certificates of approval and municipal building permits as necessary.
Manage, lead and coordinate the work of building maintenance, information technology, telecommunications and other staff involved in the management of the company’s facilities and associated projects.
Be accountable for their output, by facilitating the planning and organizing of the group's work, providing advice, guidance and direction as necessary. In conjunction with other staff, develop, implement and maintain detailed work methods for staff, in a working environment, which is consistent with the philosophy and goals of continuous quality improvement.

Ensure safe, efficient and reliable delivery of workplace and support related services. Manage all workplace related services and support services such as mail, printing, courier, executive reception etc, and staff output for office space planning and design, furniture services, conference rooms, office moves, service calls, plant maintenance and housekeeping functions.
