In this position, you will be reporting to the Manager, Grid Operations in Operating Assessment and Technical Support group at Hydro One. This group provides technical support to the real time electricity transmission and distribution operations and is accountable for developing and maintaining operating instructions for the control room for safe and reliable system operation.

 

For this position, students enrolled in a 2-year college diploma in Business Administration are preferred (minimum requirement). 

 

Your job duties may include:

  • Assist in Reception duties
  • Assist in Posting Operating Instructions, memos, facilities design description documents
  • Ordering supplies
  • Managing expense report providing admin support to Operating Assessment and Technical Support  group of System Operations Support department at Ontario Grid Control Center, Barrie
  • Arranging team meetings and taking meeting minutes

 

This job will provide you following professional development: 

  • Hands on experience of Hydro One Network Operating Document System (NODS)
  • Exposure to Hydro One Control Room Information System (CRIS)
  • Learning time management skills
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Must be enrolled in a 2-year college co-op program. Preference will be given to those students with a focus in Business Administration.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
