The role is to support members of operating assessment and technical support team within system operations division. The DX support team provides real time operating engineering support and utilizes Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) as an application for performing Operating Assessment studies. The role requires the candidate to validate the power applications in ADMS, perform data analysis, create auditing tools and to assist with various software testing and support team members in day to day activities.

 

The successful candidate will be performing but not limited to the following activities:

  • Support the safe and reliable operation of the Advance Distribution Management System (ADMS) and its power applications.
  • Assist in the development of computer applications for departmental systems and records, collaborating with internal or external computing services and data centres in the development and operation of such applications, as required.
  • Assist in SharePoint monitoring and updating.
  • Aid and facilitate the Entry and extraction of data to/from various computer applications using computer and programming skills.
  • Assist in providing engineering support to the development of operating Instructions as well as job aid documents and reports.
  • Proficiently use Hydro One information system tools such as PCMIS, Infobase, GIS, ORMS etc.
  • Prepare various monthly and weekly reports relative to performance, productivity, operations and control or the department.
  • Assist as required in preparing and conducting formal presentations/ meetings.

 

This job will provide you following professional development: 

  • Understanding of Hydro One Distribution System 
  • Exposure to Advance Network Management System (ADMS) used to operate and control Hydro One medium voltage distribution system
  • Learning time management skills
  • Problem Solving and Decision Making

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Academic Program: Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Academic Year: Completion of 3rd year required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
