General Accountabilities:
- Responsible for the application and administration of the Utility Work Protection Code (UWPC) requirements of the Controlling, Issuing and Establishing Authority functions as required.
- Assist in updating operating diagrams throughout the duration of Work or a Project.
Coordination (including direction to stakeholders) of all work activities at site in accordance with the UWPC, Hydro One Safety Rule Book, and standing Hydro One practices and procedures to ensure the safe and timely completion of work activities. - Completion, stakeholder engagement and execution of UWPC Forms, assist with FREIS / Transfer Of Control (as required), ISP and all other documentation required to deem new and existing asset(s) usable.
- Identification and documentation of all sources of energy and available isolation and grounding devices by nomenclature in a manner conducive to populating the UWPC Forms Program Database, the Network Outage Management System and other systems critical to the daily operation of the Transmission System.
- Accountability for communication, both written and oral, of pertinent information and status to Controlling Authorities and other stakeholders as required and in accordance with all mandatory requirements.
- Assist field forces with switching operations as needed.
- Perform other duties as required.
Specific accountabilities:
- Receive PC1's.
- The preparation and issuance of all required UWPC documentation to execute work activities in a safe and timely manner.
- Execution of switching orders to establish the boundary of isolation.
- Maintaining an electronic log of all daily activities and asset operations in accordance with all mandatory regulations.
- Provide coordination, direction, technical advice and operational expertise as required as it relates to the work.
- Produce reports as required/scheduled
- Logging of all related UWPC activities.
- Attend UWPC related meetings.
- Schedule and facilitate UWPC related onsite meetings for and during various stages of the work.
Selection Criteria:
Educational Requirements:
- Requires the knowledge that is acquired by an Ontario Secondary School ("OAC") Diploma (Grade 12) or equivalent level of education and a 3-year College Diploma in a relevant technical field, a relevant trade certification or the equivalent.
- Requires a good understanding of electrical theory and practices.
- Must be able to maintain UWPC certification and qualifications.
- Demonstrated competency with rules, procedures, equipment and hazards associated with the equipment and in performing switching operations for the successful execution of UWPC responsibilities.
- Will possess clerical/technical, customer relations and leadership skills.
- Will have and maintain a valid Ontario Driver's Licence.
