General Accountabilities:

  • Assist in developing solutions relative to process improvements and business initiatives to meet the needs of the Company, particularly in the Distribution Organization of Hydro One Networks Inc.  This includes providing needs analysis, solutions and evaluation services related to processes, with a goal of continuous improvement. 
  • Assist in coordinating the input of relevant subject matter experts from across the Company regarding the content/accuracy/completeness of process documentation.  In addition, make recommendations regarding the best mechanism for documenting the information for the end users in the moment of need.  
  • Develop clear, concise process documentation, job aids, etc. related to all new and revised processes.
  • Support coordination efforts and required timelines to implement process improvements. 
  • As required, assist in project work to identify, develop and implement process change and improvements, supporting various business initiatives, including definition of critical paths.


 Essential Competencies and Selection Criteria

  • Requires excellent written and oral English language skills to communicate effectively with others, prepare various types of documentation and facilitate/present to stakeholders.

  • Experience in developing/documenting processes, process flows, work instructions and job aids, etc.

  • Experience in facilitating process discussions/problem solving with cross-functional teams consisting of internal staff as well as external consultants is an asset.

  • Experience in continuous improvement methodologies is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to perform work assignments with minimal guidance

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple scopes of work at varying stages of progress.

  • Requires collaborating and cooperating with all levels of personnel regarding policies, procedures and systems.

  • Proficient in the use of MS Office and SharePoint. 

  • Knowledge of SAP is an asset.

  • The successful completion of a four-year university education (or equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant work is considered necessary to gain this experience.

  • Limited travel may be required to attend meetings in person.  This may occasionally require an overnight stay due to distance and/or to ensure safe conditions for travel.
