Electrical Arrangement and Basic Layout design and study

Your job duties may include:

Electrical Arrangement(EA) and Basic Layout(BL)of substation from 500 kV to 12 kV Associated studies of EA and BL design

Other station design, for example, lightning, lighting, grounding, AC/DC, Fire protection.

This job will provide you with the following professional development: Station electrical arrangement/ basic layout design ability development Substation project engineering management skill hands­on experience. Power system safety practical knowledge

Getting hands on training on industrial standards, for example, IEC, IEEE, CSA Getting hands on training on HydroOne transmission and distribution standards Organization and planning skills

Prioritizing multiple activities

Improving communications skills in order to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.

Gaining knowledge of technical writing for the preparation and checking of contract documents, Scopes of Work, presentations and technical reports and specifications

Getting Ability to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external customers

Improving independent work ability

Working knowledge and ability in using Microsoft applications, Hydro One computer applications, and other vendor provided programs and applications

Hydro One requires that all students applying for student opportunities be enrolled in post-secondary level studies and be returning to full-time studies upon the completion of their work term.
