Job Description:

This is a key leadership position that provides enterprise-wide oversight of the frameworks, standards, and practices that ensure effective governance, performance transparency, and operational consistency across technology initiatives and services. The Director leads a multidisciplinary team responsible for financial oversight, vendor and contract coordination, delivery methodology, portfolio governance, and the advancement of key divisional standards. The team also supports cross-functional collaboration and accountability through structured reporting, value realization practices, and leading shared communities of professional practice. With a strong focus on process improvement, the Director is accountable for identifying and enhancing how work is performed across the division, for operational excellence in support of the needs of our employees and customers. This role is central to enabling a cohesive, high-performing, and strategically aligned technology organization. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Lead the governance framework for technology portfolios across all of the Digital Technology Solutions Portfolio, including Grid Technologies, SAP, Customer Experience, Data, Security and Infrastructure.
  2. Oversee portfolio reporting, stage gating, and performance tracking. 
  3. Manage financial oversight, and monthly financial reporting for the division.
  4. Maintain standards for Technology organizations divisional practices.
  5. Oversee vendor management and contract performance coordination.
  6. Oversee and mature portfolio Centers of Excellence and/or Communities of Practice
  7. Drive process improvements across divisional workflows and practices.
  8. Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement. 
  9. dentify and drive ways to improve processes and operations for lower costs and improved outcomes
  10. Demonstrate leadership skills across the organization # project sponsors, project staff, business leaders and within IT
  11. Facilitate business needs and requirements

 

Selection Criteria:

Education:

  • Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in portfolio governance, technology planning, or related functions within a complex, multi-stakeholder organization.
  • Proven ability to lead governance, financial oversight, and process improvement in large-scale Digital and Technology Solutions organization.
  • Post-secondary education in business, technology, engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications in portfolio, program, or service management are considered assets (PMP, Lean Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience establishing and leading governance frameworks, delivery methodologies, and operating standards that improve transparency, accountability, and consistency.

Expereince:

  • Strong background in financial planning, forecasting, and performance reporting at the divisional or enterprise level.
  • Demonstrated experience successfully developing and implementing strategic initiatives with teams, leading and achieving transformational change through people, and designing, developing and implementing functional policies and programs resulting in improved business performance (cost savings, efficiency gains, or improved outcomes)
  • Experience overseeing vendor management, including contract performance, license optimization, and supplier relationship governance.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization, including executive and frontline teams.
  • Skilled in navigating ambiguity, facilitating business needs, and aligning diverse stakeholders to shared outcomes.
  • Demonstrated leadership presence and influence across technology and business functions, with the ability to drive cultural and operational alignment.
