General Accountabilities

As a Talent Management Consultant, you are accountable for the performance of Talent Management consultative functions across the business, providing advice and applying sound business judgment to strategic talent management recommendations, solutions and initiatives. This includes executing talent management strategies, project management of core talent programs, developing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, continuously improving current processes and management tools for talent management and researching solutions for the company to drive the retention, development, and engagement of the Hydro One workforce.

 

Specific Accountabilities

Through collateral relationships with respect to the Director, Talent Management, and within context provided by the Director, Talent Management, provide the following:

  • Developing and maintaining robust programs related to retaining, engaging and developing employees. Programs include: performance management, succession planning, career development, high potential development, and organizational design,
  • Assisting with classroom learning programs facilitation in alignment with talent development standards and adult learning best practices.
  • Providing input into the Talent Management plans and strategy to meet the department and the business needs.
  • Providing program support for talent management initiatives including the design and development of tools and resources.
  • Organizing and managing the high potential pool of talent and assisting with development offering and/or vendors.
  • Interpreting and delivering consolidated leadership assessment feedback and discussing development opportunities with participants.
  • Identifying the necessary budget requirements to support talent management initiatives.
  • Organizing and supporting cross-functional teams within talent management programs.
  • Supporting the human resources teams on various talent management programs, and providing talent management consultative advice and guidance to the business.
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing talent management processes to ensure compliance to policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively educate clients in the interpretation and application of labour agreements and human resources policies and practices.
  • Provide expert advice on use of the Success Factors tool and specifically the modules: Learning, Goals, Performance, Succession, Calibration, Development, and Employee Files and align to best practice implementation to realize our goal of quality Talent Management at Hydro On

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field is required.
  • Work Experience:
    • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a progressively responsible HR position, with at least 4 years specializing in talent management.
    • Experience using SAP Success Factors Performance, Goals and Succession or other cloud based HRIS system is required.  SAP Success Factors experience is considered an asset.
    • Korn Ferry 360 Certification is an asset
    • Demonstrable experience creating, implementing, and maintaining talent management programs, such as:

  • Teamwork – able to work with others as part of a team, as opposed to working separately or competitively
  • Computer Skills - Proficiency in MS-Office is required (i.e. Excel, Visio, Project, etc…) 
  • Communication - Strong Interpersonal skills, both written and oral
  • Detail Orientation - Strong Attention to detail
  • Problem Solving - Effective consultation skills to understand business requirements, identify solutions, make good judgments and integrate with talent management tools and practices.
  • Asset: Familiar with other HRIS, SharePoint, and Collective Agreements
