Reporting to the Manager, Leadership and Organizational Development, the LOD Consultant will work with members of the Talent Management HR Team and key business stakeholders to design, develop and implement learning programs and OD initiatives to support the People and Talent Management strategy and improve individual and organizational performance.

 

The ideal candidate will possess strong Learning and OD skills and preferably has experience across Human Resources program areas. This is a hands on role focused on program design, maintenance and delivery of learning programs with proven business impact. This role will also support talent management activities including Performance Management, Career Development, Succession Planning and Engagement. The position will be based in downtown Toronto, and will require frequent travel across Ontario.

 

 Key accountabilities include:

  • Works in collaboration with Human Resources partners and/or business partners to identify development needs and translate into learning and leadership development solutions
  • Designs, develops and delivers innovative skills development programs to help grow our employees
  • Facilitates a variety of organizational development sessions such as workshops, focus groups and other learning events at individual, team and organizational levels
  • Enhances the learning transfer program to improve the transfer of training from classroom to on the job application and develops programming to support learning transfer.
  • Provides thought leadership  and builds evaluation framework to gather metrics about training initiatives
  • Supports talent management initiatives such as Performance Management, Career Development, Succession Planning, and Engagement
  • Conceives and redesigns the Learning and Org Development web presence and access to tools and resources to improve the end user experience in planning and locating learning resources
  • Acts as project manager to take a planful and consistent approach to the launching of corporate wide programs
  • Partners with the Manager on new requests for Leadership program development and deliver programming
  • Tracks and assists in the reporting of development activities
  • Provides recommendations on learning best practices
  • Governance: plays a key role in identifying, crafting and maintaining learning policies and procedures

 

As the ideal candidate, you possess the following qualifications:

  • Education in Adult Education, Human Resources Management or Organizational Development or a Learning related field is required.
  • Work Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of demonstrated experience in design, development, delivery and evaluation of adult learning and OD programs is required. Proven facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to manage participants during learning sessions in the areas of communication, leadership development, employee development etc.   
  • Ability to build, manage and execute evaluation strategies to measure the impact of change of behaviour on the job / effectiveness of the development method
  • Experience in a public sector, unionized environment is an asset.
  • Solid track record in planning and managing projects.
  • Computer Skills: Strong technical ability in in MS-Office is required. SAP and Success Factors knowledge is an asset.

 

Other Qualifications:

  • Ability to build, manage and execute evaluation strategies to measure the impact of change of behaviour on the job  effectiveness of the development method.
  • Strong relationship management skills with the ability to establish credibility at all levels of the organization.  
  • Highly developed planning and organizational skills with a flexible and results oriented approach. 
  • Certification in Strengths Finder, DISC or other assessment tools would be an asset.
  • HR Generalist experience is an asset.
