This role sits within Hydro One’s Enterprise Transformation Office (ETO), a strategic function responsible for integrating, enabling, and accelerating execution of the company’s highest‑priority projects and strategic initiatives. ETO ensures that enterprise efforts are aligned with Hydro One’s strategy, productivity and cost‑management objectives, and culture‑transformation goals.
Job Function:
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Change the Manager, Change Management is responsible for implementing Company goals/objectives/strategies by providing effective change management leadership and direction in establishing and maintaining effective project services. Support project management and contributing departments in planning and managing Organizational Change Management on projects. Develop, obtain approval for and maintain project scheduling policies, standards, templates and products. Support the management of Change Management on projects and programs by providing consolidated information, reports and analysis.
General Accountabilities:
- Manage staff engaged in the development and delivery of project services. Plan, schedule, organize and assign work to ensure that quality and accuracy of work are maintained and on schedule
- Provide advice, guidance and direction to staff in the resolution of work-related problems, as well provide clear expectations and performance measures
- Provide leadership through demonstration and response to staff requirements to achieve targets, plans, strategies and quality objectives to deliver service levels
- Make effective recommendations on human resource issues, including career counselling, hiring, discharge, discipline and resolving work performance problems
- Work with staff in other business units to communicate details of project work processes along with standard documents, templates, applications, scheduling materials and to clarify roles and accountabilities
- Coordinate activities of individual team members to ensure all inputs are captured in a single master project schedule
- Develop, integrate and maintain project standards, templates and other tools to improve quality and efficiency. Maintain databases of historic project timelines, approaches and other relevant data in order to provide accurate templates and processes and to provide data that enables accuracy to be continuously improved
- Work with external representatives to identify and integrate industry best practices as they relate to project services and benchmarks. Exercise judgement and tact in explaining relevant benchmark pricing issues and/or persuading these external representatives to make exception to policies/processes or to change to ones more suitable to the Company
- Monitor and support project status review process and provide analysis of progress and issues. Provide feedback to project managers and management
- Conduct special studies and analysis
- Contribute in the development and documentation of Change & Culture Services business processes, systems and practices
Selection Criteria:
Essential Knowledge:
- Advanced working level knowledge of Change Management methodologies and deliverables, preferably Prosci certified
- Detailed understanding of change readiness, change communications, adult learning and training methods and their application in business
- Intermediate level knowledge of project management principles and project lifecycles, as applied to business
- Intermediate level of knowledge contracting for and managing external resources
- Familiarity with the utilities industry, preferably the electricity industry and ideally the Hydro One business model
Essential Experience:
- Completion of a university degree and up to 10 years of relevant business experience
- 5 years of experience leading the delivery of Change Management programs
- Experience in delivering projects that cross people, process and technology domains
- Experience overseeing multiple projects and teams
