Job Function:

We are seeking an innovative, strategic, and relationship-driven Manager, HR Service Delivery & Projects to join our People Operations teamThis role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of our HR service delivery model by bringing structure, insight, and continuous improvement to how we monitor, maintain, and elevate the employee experience

This role is based out of Toronto Hydro One office (Hybrid).

 

What will your typical day look like?

As a Manager, Special Projects, you will work collaboratively across HR Centres of Excellence, business HR, and other operational teams to design and deliver impactful outcomes. On any given day, you may:

  • Lead the operationalization of the Monitor & Maintain function, shaping processes, controls, and reporting frameworks that strengthen People Operations.
  • Oversee functional reporting and HR analytics, distilling insights, identifying trends, and translating data into actionable recommendations.
  • Partner closely with the Director, People Operations to proactively address issues, provide solutions, and contribute to annual and multi‑year operational planning, including HR technology roadmap and budgets.
  • Evaluate end‑to‑end HR processes to improve efficiency, scalability, and customer experience—clarifying workflows, aligning teams, and designing better ways of working.
  • Champion knowledge management by developing and sustaining a modern KM strategy that ensures HR content is accurate, accessible, and enabling for our customers.
  • Support and lead internal and external audit activities, ensuring compliance with controls, policies, and governance requirements.
  • Provide oversight and guidance to HR Business Analysts and Continuous Improvement Specialists, driving a culture of problem‑solving, innovation, and results.
  • Engage stakeholders at all levels through clear, compelling communication, including documents, briefing notes, presentations, and updates to senior leadership.
  • Foster a high‑performing team environment through coaching, development, and meaningful goal‑setting.

 

About the Team

The People Operations team enables HR to deliver exceptional service, maintain operational excellence, and continuously evolve how we support the workforce of today and tomorrow. Our Monitor & Maintain function is central to that vision—ensuring our processes are efficient, our data is reliable, our controls are strong, and our HR services are consistent and customer‑centric.

We help HR teams optimize workflows, leverage insights, enhance compliance, and drive meaningful transformation so that People Operations can focus on what matters most: delivering value to the business and to our people.

 

Selection Criteria

  • You are someone who thrives at the intersections of HR, operations, agile, analytics, and strategy. You bring curiosity, leadership, and a problem‑solving mindset to everything you do.
  • 10-12 + years of progressive knowledge and experience in HR, IT, project management, data analytics, or related fields.
  • Proven ability to navigate HR systems, business processes, controls, and operational frameworks (SuccessFactors Employee Central, SAP Employee Central Component, WorkForce Software and ServiceNow experience an asset).
  • Strong ability to build relationships across diverse stakeholder groups through trust, communication, and collaboration.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated experience preparing briefing notes, leadership presentations, and governance materials.
  • Comfortable leading through change, ambiguity, and evolving priorities with a proactive and positive approach.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to translate analytics and operational metrics into meaningful insights.
  • Experience managing audits, compliance, internal controls, and enterprise‑level reporting.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including coaching and developing team members.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, particularly Excel.
  • Agile and Scrum Master knowledge and experience considered an asset, with the ability to apply agile principles to drive clarity, alignment, and continuous improvement across HR operations.
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired either through the successful completion of a four-year university education in business administration, HR or related discipline.
  • Thrives in an environment of rapid and continuous change.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Personal competencies include organizational commitment, team leadership, teamwork, innovation, and achievement motivation.
  • Requires experience to be familiar with various management systems (SAP), controls, policies, procedures, data and business processes and agreements governing department's activities.
  • A period of over 10 years and up to and including 12 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.

The base salary for this role considers a variety of factors, including candidates' knowledge, skills, experience, education, and any applicable collective agreement requirements for union-represented positions.
