Job Function:
Reporting the Director, Talent Management, the Manager will contribute to the overall talent management strategy by leading the design and delivery of the mandatory curriculum, supporting and sustaining employee engagement initiative, the integration of Hydro One competency framework, developing evaluation framework, managing the onboarding revamp project and collaborating with the SIT team to revamp effective supervision learning program. In addition, the manager will lead a high-performing team of subject matter experts to identify, organize, create and deliver all elements of this strategy using best practices, in order to promote an exceptional learning experience across all sites of the organization.
This role will partner with business leaders, HR Business Partners and other stakeholders to deliver comprehensive leadership and management development education, experiences, and exposure for our leaders.
General Accountabilities:
Operations
- Lead the management, revision and maintenance of the Leadership, Management and business skills curriculum
- Lead the following projects and initiatives: Competency Framework Integration, Employee Engagement Sustainment, Onboarding Revamp, Online leadership Resource Centre (HMM) and projects as assigned
- Support leadership development in alignment Talent Management process, identifying new and innovative approaches in learning design and deployment
- Identify gaps in existing curriculum and recommend programs to address skill gaps that support organizational strategy
- Cultivate strong relationships with leaders across the business generate a deep understanding of business demands in order to support development and address skill gaps
- Consult with business leaders to understand their leadership and management development needs for input and the appropriate sponsorship, engagement and alignment
- Collaborate with HR business partners and leaders to understand leadership learning needs and define support for professional development in each line of business
- Consult and liaise internal with HR stakeholders as it relates to leadership and professional development
- Provide support to DR with managing and sustaining the new grad program
- In partnership with the Director, establish and manage the Leadership and business skills budget by approving day to day standard invoices, ensuring POs are maintained and providing input to any new contracts to be approved by the Director
- Manage external vendors including RFP process, vendor selection and negotiating statements of work
- Manage the company's leadership coaching program and the process for results-driven coaching engagements
- Lead the development of standard KPI’s, metrics, and reporting for evaluating the effectiveness of talent development programs and initiatives; communicates the impact of talent programs and initiatives
People Management
- Build a high performance team by setting effective performance goals, providing feedback and coaching
- Work with direct reports to develop skills and knowledge and provide support for professional goals aligned with the organization
- Provide input to team on the description, design ( which includes course content, job aids, powerpoint presentations, learning tools and templates) and supporting materials that will be used by internal HR partners and the business to support their learning needs
- Lead the team in the implementation of learning/business solutions by providing high level direction on timing, milestones, work back schedules and identification of key stakeholders
- This role manages 5 direct reports
Selection Criteria:
Education:
- Required: University degree in Organizational Behavior/Development, Business Administration/Management, or related major field of study
- Preferred: Masters in Adult Education or related major field of Study
Experience
- 8 or more years of experience required in HR, Learning and leadership development
- Extensive experience in the facilitation of leadership development programs and courses in multiple modalities
- Proven ability to consult with and influence key stakeholders to effectively diagnose, develop, and implement appropriate leadership development interventions aligned with the corporate strategic priorities
- Proven ability to collaborate across functional and divisional boundaries, with strong interpersonal and communication skills to achieve results
- Relevant and up to date knowledge of leadership development field, technology-based training methods and best practices for encouraging employee participation in the development process
- Knowledge of personality, multi-rater or leadership assessment methodology and its role and impact on employee development
- Excellent project management skills and detail oriented, demonstrated experience with largescale, enterprise-wide initiatives
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and successfully complete complex projects within defined timelines
- Ability to work effectively in an environment of constant change
- Proven ability to be flexible and manage through ambiguity
- Advanced Microsoft Office skill
