The Vice President, Employee & Labour Relations, Diversity and Governance, is seeking a professional to assist in the development of key deliverables and provide day-to-day project management support on several high-impact, high visibility initiatives. Within the Human Resources Leadership Team (“HRLT”) structure, an agile “People Solutions Team” has recently been established with a mandate of bringing together an agile pool of HR Colleagues to action and solve critical deliverables, in support of our People & HR Function strategy pillars. This collective team manages day-to-day activities and strategic effectiveness of Hydro One’s HRLT.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development of the People Solutions Team, from initial ideation phase through to development of policy, governance, and best practices related to the team’s operating model.
- Play a lead role in executing projects and activities directly related to and in support of the agile team – i.e. ensure that stakeholders involved understand and are closely aligned to our strategic aspirations and goals. Accountable to ensure successful delivery of the team’s projects and assigned work efforts.
- Research and remain current on internal and external activities in the firm or that may impact the firm’s strategic agenda.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to accomplish multiple assignments and deliverables on an on-going, agile basis.
- Create and maintain tracking and reporting tools, as necessary.
- Take the lead on development of executive level briefings, communications, presentations, and content, including being a document owner for HR collateral shared with ELT, the CEO, and Hydro One’s Board of Directors.
- Beyond the People Solutions mandate, support with ad-hoc activities related to the day-to-day operation of the HRLT as well as to support organization and governance for the HRLT.
Selection Criteria:
- Post-Secondary degree required, preference given to applicants with prior background in Human Resources, Business, or Communications.
- Prior exposure and experience interacting with C-Suite, and/or Board of Directors in an administrative capacity is an asset.
- High level of intellectual curiosity, versatility, and flexibility with excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong self-starter, with the ability to work independently, empowered to know when it is appropriate to “make the call” vs. escalate.
- Superior project, time, and relationship management skills.
- Able to run/lead several projects simultaneously and autonomously in a detail oriented manner – working well under pressure, while also acting with utmost confidentiality with sensitive leadership information.
- High degree of self-confidence, poise, maturity, diplomacy, and empathy.
- Creativity, strategy and analytical thinking, and flexibility are critical to the position given that the scope and variety of work will frequently change depending on the team’s priorities.
