New Grad Program  

 

Candidates selected for this position will be included in Hydro One's New Grad development program.

Our New Graduate program reflects our long-term commitment to invest time and resources to build the best and brightest team. We are always on the lookout for individuals who have a passion for learning and are looking to build their career with Hydro One.  

 The two-year program offers a permanent position from Day 1, a combination of training and coaching, and the ability to rotate through several roles allowing New Grads to gain experience working on different projects and in different environments.   

Program Eligibility  

 

    • You have graduated with your bachelor's degree in 2024, 2025 or will graduate by May 2026  
    • Or, you are currently completing a master's degree in a related field, you are graduating by May 2026, and have a maximum of 1 year between completing your bachelor's degree and enrolling in your master's program.  
    • Good Academic Standing (A copy of your Official/Unofficial Transcript)  
    • Valid, permanent driver's license (Ontario Class G)  

 

Capital Portfolio Delivery 

 

The Portfolio Management team within Capital Portfolio Delivery (CPD) organization is accountable for all planning, estimating, cost & schedule management and reporting functions in the successful delivery of capital projects.

 

This encompasses

  • Project Estimating for Construction, Stations Services and Transmission Lines.
  • Project Controls including Scheduling, Cost and Risk Management.
  • Portfolio Reporting and Analysis and Program Management.
  • Project Delivery Center of Excellence.

 

Each group focuses on key areas to support the delivery of the capital work program.  In addition, they provide support and guidance to the entire division including acceptance, project, and program forecasting, productivity, KPI development and tracking, investment planning support, resource planning, rate filing preparation and, support of strategic initiatives to help the corporation meet its stated goals and objectives.

 

We are looking for New Grads (1) in our Productivity team within the broader Portfolio Management organization. New Grads will primarily be responsible to support all aspects of productivity development & management including industry research, data analysis & visualization, collaborating with business owners, preparing presentations and summary materials to support various initiatives across the organization.  

 

In this role you will:

 

  • Assist with supporting various productivity initiatives within the broader Capital Portfolio Delivery organization.
  • Assist with data and analysis by accessing data from various systems to understand and validate productivity savings before it gets reported.
  • Prepare month end productivity reports for the business owners to review and work with them to identify next steps.
  • Engage with various stakeholders within project control areas such as estimating, forecasting, cost, schedule, project change management, and reporting functions.
  • Coordinate, collaborate and communicate with all stakeholders within and external to Capital Portfolio Delivery to ensure mutual objectives are achieved.
  • Participate in process improvement workshops in order to drive efficiency and productivity improvements in the Capital Portfolio Delivery division.
  • Assist in and/or facilitate in month-end manager meetings, including taking actions and screen-sharing presentations.
  • Assist with reviewing technical engineering and related documentation/diagrams with ability to quickly generate project related summaries on work scope.
  • Develop and maintain detailed guidelines, process charts and job aids for approved business processes.
  • Assist the productivity team with keeping all of the documentation and process current in SharePoint.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Requires strong analytical, presentation and interpersonal skills.
  • Requires experience with working effectively in team settings.
  • Requires knowledge of the transmission/distribution business and having a general understanding of the overall electricity transmission & distribution and capital work delivery.

 

Job Requirements:

 

  • Must meet New Grad Program Eligibility Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in programs such as Business Administration, Finance, Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Computer Science, or Mathematics. 
  • Requires strong working knowledge of SAP (PS/IM), SharePoint, MS Office (Visio/Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Power BI, Power Apps) and other Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Previous co-op experience in a relevant field and industry is considered an asset.
