Role description
We are seeking a dynamic and tech-savvy student to join our Emergency Management and Business Continuity team as an analyst. The ideal candidate is a go-getter with a passion for using technology to enhance emergency and continuity strategies. This role requires quick thinking, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. General Responsibilities

Technology integration. Use cutting-edge technologies to enhance communication, data collection, and analysis within the emergency management framework.

Support emergency planning. Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of emergency response plans, ensuring they align with the latest technological advancements.

Digital communication. Manage digital communication channels, ensuring effective and timely dissemination of critical information to team members and relevant stakeholders during emergencies.

Data analysis. Analyze real-time data to provide insights and support decision-making processes during emergency situations.

Awareness and resource development. Create training/awareness materials and documentation related to tools and emergency procedures.

Technology trouble shooting. Provide technical support to resolve issues related to emergency management systems, ensuring continuous functionality during critical situations.

Innovation. Stay up to date on emerging technologies and propose innovative solutions to enhance the overall effectiveness of the emergency management team.

Documentation and reporting. Maintain accurate records of technological processes, incidents, and outcomes, contributing to post-event analysis and continuous improvement efforts. This role combines technical proficiency with a proactive mindset, playing a crucial part in ensuring the team's readiness and effectiveness in emergency situations.

Drills and simulations. Participate in and assist with emergency response drills and simulations, utilizing technology to simulate realistic scenarios for team training

Collaborate with team members to integrate technology seamlessly into emergency response efforts, fostering a cohesive and efficient working environment.
Selection criteria

A student currently enrolled in a college, university or master’s program in engineering, information technology, business, finance, computer science, emergency or business continuity management or other relevant program.

Required a strong confidence working with new systems, tools, and technology.

Required strong presentation and analytical skills.

Required an innovative and creative mindset, looking to find solutions to improve processes related to business continuity and emergency management.

Required expert-level skills with excel, particularly with PowerQuery (ability to build models and perform analysis).

Programming experience is preferred.

Required a strong team player - the nature of the work on this team requires collaboration and relationship building.

Preferred proficiency in incident management processes, demonstrating the ability to respond effectively to disruptions and minimize business impact.

Preferred business continuity planning to ensure the organization’s resilience in the face of unforeseen events.
