Students hired into the Project Management department will be given the opportunity to learn the coordination of engineering, procurement, commissioning and/or construction services to deliver electrical, environmental, and civil work programs. Students will have exposure to managing high-voltage power line and electrical sub-station construction projects. Students will learn and develop key Project Management concepts. Leadership and communication skills will be developed to instill confidence in the candidate's abilities. In addition, there will be opportunities to build working relationships with suppliers and consulting firms.

 

 

Your job duties may include:

  • Assist in developing detailed project plans, estimates, schedules, and risk registers for projects and programs.
  • Assist in the monitoring, control and redirection of programs and projects to achieve successful project completion. Monitor service provider performance, report variances and give redirection if required.
  • Assist in resolving issues through negotiation with the Service Provider, stakeholders and customer.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports and specifications and present recommendations to resolve issues, producing necessary documentation, as necessary.
  • Utilize various project application software to populate and articulate project plans
  • Assist with administrative duties to support Project Management staff.

 

This job will provide you with the following professional development:

  • Working as part of a project team.
  • Gain the knowledge necessary to develop project plans, schedules and estimates.
  • Gain experience in project status reporting.

 

Selection Criteria:

  • Disciplines: Engineering, Business Administration.
  • Academic level: 2nd or 3rd year university student.
  • Other requirements: Familiar with Microsoft applications.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present effectively to various stakeholders and customers.

 

Additional job conditions:

  • Travel to various project sites throughout the province may be required.
  • Ontario Driver's license, G category is required.

 

Work location is in Toronto, ON. Currently, this position follows a hybrid working environment.
